History of Quezon City Lodge No. 10

The history of Quezon City Odd Fellows Lodge No. 10 of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows (I.O.O.F.), under the Grand Lodge of the Philippines, traces its beginnings to April 14, 2017. On this date, Bro. Charles Andrew Amoroso, Bro. Joselito Alampayan, Bro. Ramon Caduhada, and Bro. Percival Santiago convened to formally discuss the establishment of a fraternal organization dedicated to fostering unity, strengthening moral character, and promoting genuine brotherhood within the community.

On the evening of April 17, 2017, Bro. Charles Andrew Amoroso reached out to Bro. Louie Sarmiento and Sis. Maria Celeste and subsequently approached then-Grand Sire Glenn Dimayuga to formally express their intention of organizing an all-male Odd Fellows Lodge in Quezon City. The four founding brothers were initiated into the Order through Manila Odd Fellows Lodge No. 8 on July 30, 2017. Despite initial enthusiasm, internal organizational challenges temporarily delayed the realization of their plans.

A year later, on May 12, 2018, Quezon City Odd Fellows Lodge No. 10 was officially granted a dispensation by Grand Sire Mc Aldous Castanares. On June 16, 2018, the Lodge was formally instituted at Avenue Residences along Quirino Highway, Quezon City, through the efforts of eleven brothers—Glenn Dimayuga, Jonathan Paulo, Joselito Alampayan, Percival Santiago, Charles Andrew Amoroso, Ramon Caduhada, Joseph Michael Caolie, Febwin Villaceran, Ronald Allan Babas, Antonio Capil Jr., Gino Paolo Cordis, and Benjamin Tiglao.

Shortly thereafter, thirteen additional brothers—Russel Del Carmen, Adjuthor De Guzman, Milardo Dukha Jr., Joell Lales, Bryan Cariaga, Allan Carbungco, Rodrigo Ablaza, Norberto Filipe De Guzman II, Alvin Fontanil, Rey Harold Florano, John Christopher Salazar, and Niccolo Gabriel Cruz—joined as charter members, further strengthening the foundation and membership of the Lodge.

Only a few months after receiving its charter, on August 5, 2018, Quezon City Odd Fellows Lodge No. 10 conferred the Priestly Order upon twenty-three brothers and one sister. This significant milestone led to the establishment of Makati City (Fraternitas) Odd Fellows Lodge No. 11 under the Independent Order of Odd Fellows Grand Lodge of the Philippines, marking another important step in the continued growth and expansion of the Order in the country.

Beyond the establishment of Makati City (Fraternitas) Odd Fellows Lodge No. 11, Quezon City Lodge No. 10 played a vital role in the continued growth and development of the Grand Lodge of the Philippines. The Lodge actively assisted in the organization and establishment of several other lodges across the country, including San Juan Odd Fellows Lodge No. 22, Subic Odd Fellows Lodge No. 24, Bicol Odd Fellows Lodge No. 17, Sierra Madre Lodge No. 19, Katipunan Odd Fellows Lodge No. 20, and many others. Through these efforts, QCL10 became instrumental in expanding the reach and influence of the Order throughout the Philippines.

In 2019, Quezon City Lodge No. 10 further contributed to the advancement of the fraternity by assisting in the review, arrangement, and refinement of the Charge Book subsequently adopted and utilized by the Grand Lodge of the Philippines. This undertaking reflected the Lodge’s commitment not only to membership growth but also to the preservation of the Order’s traditions, rituals, and organizational standards.

The Lodge was likewise formally registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) under SEC Registration No. CN201826271 as “IOOF Quezon City Lodge No. 10 Inc.” and has consistently maintained compliance with the requirements of the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), demonstrating its commitment to lawful governance, accountability, and institutional integrity.

Today, the members of Quezon City Odd Fellows Lodge No. 10 continue to distinguish themselves not only within the Philippines but also internationally. Its Charter Noble Grand, Bro. Charles Andrew Amoroso, was recently installed as the new Grand Master during the 166th Session of the Grand Lodge of the Atlantic Provinces, I.O.O.F., held on May 8–9, 2026, in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada—an achievement that brought honor and recognition not only to QCL10 but also to Filipino Odd Fellowship as a whole.

Likewise, several of its distinguished members have attained notable positions in their respective professional fields. Bro. Past Grand Joell Lales was appointed as the new Director of the Bureau of Agricultural Research, while Bro. Past Grand Febwin Villaceran was appointed Dean of the College of Business Administration at Philippine Christian University. These accomplishments stand as a testament to the Lodge’s enduring commitment to leadership, service, and excellence both within and beyond the fraternity.
